The formula for life in Western metropolitan areas has eradicated the possibility of an artistic existence. The cost of living has made an alternative pathway unattainable, if even imaginable. As a result, social and cultural value is marginalized.
habitat recognizes the value of what is lost; the art residency sets out to present cultural production as economic progression, explore digital migration as means for financial release, and to honor the artist as his own project.
The program is bound by time and space. The selected artists sequent each other on a monthly basis, as the residency nomads between rooms and hotels across Stockholm, Sweden.

The residency is set to begin Summer 2026, with a pilot project of 6-8 artist each staying 10 days. At the end of each tenure, an obligatory open access “exhibition” is arrange by the artist, hotel and curator.
