habitat is a blueprint for research and practice that places itself beyond the art world’s criteria and institutions.

habitat takes inspiration from the Blaue Reiter movement dating back to the 1910s when, in times of conflict and de/re/construction, the “Almanac” (1912) charted a new atlas based on artistic beliefs, realizing both crises‘ and creativity’s ability to bring people together.

habitat is an advocate for the economic vale of cultural production, and sets out to give form to a future where the relics of post-industrial life are reimagined toward creative practices.

The residency also explores how technological advancements continue to shape our shared experiences; its rotating programming aims to anchor the anarchism of digital communities, the Almanac’s modern alias, in offline exchange; realizing the inter-dependency of alternative lifestyles.
